| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to examine relationships between English proficiency, Japanese reading comprehension, and working memory capacity of Japanese learners of English. Participants were 20 Japanese university students, and they were asked to take a Reading Skill Test to measure their reading comprehension in Japanese and a Reading Span Test (RST) to measure their working memory capacity. The study used TOEIC IP (L+R) scores as a measure of English proficiency. The findings revealed that there was no statistically significant relation between TOEIC IP (L+R) scores, the Reading Skill Test, and the RST. However, there was found to be a statistically significant correlation between the RST and two items (Dependency Analysis and Anaphora Resolution) on the Reading Skill Test.
