| 値 | Every university that has a teacher training course was required to modify the contents of the subjects and course descriptions according to the guideline shown by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). In order to maintain the teacher training course in 2019 and afterwards, a written application was sent to the MEXT in April 2018. One of the changes shown in the guideline was the introduction of the concept of a core curriculum. By following the concept of a core curriculum, some subjects must be newly introduced. A subject titled “A Period of Integrated Study” is one of them. For this paper, the field “History of English Studies” was selected, and it is showed how our institution altered the content of the subject in order to follow the MEXT-guidelines. In addition, it is demonstrated how a newly established class was created, combining “Historical Study of English” and “Period of Integrated Study”. |
