| 内容記述 | Abstract During the mid-nineteenth century, Chinese translators in Nagasaki edited the Manchu-Japanese dictionary, Honyaku Mango Sanhen（ 翻訳満語纂編）. This dictionary presents each Manchu headword with a Chinese translation, and a definition rendered in both Manchu and Japanese. This paper discusses some mistranslations from Manchu to Japanese in the definition employed by the translators. Although there are individual differences, many mistranslations have arisen from a lack of understanding of the complex sentence structure, such as the relative clause and the coordinate clause in particular. |
