| 内容記述 | There have been several studies about the painters who arrived in Nagasaki in the Edo period on Chinese ships, but no systematic research has yet been carried out on what was drawn and how many paintings were imported on Chinese ships. There is a large number of Chinese paintings in Japan, and the "Japanese section" of the "General Catalogue of Chinese Painting" edited by the Institute of Oriental Culture, University of Tokyo, has the most extensive collection of examples. However, in order to get a complete picture of the Chinese paintings that were brought to Nagasaki, it is necessary to exclude the paintings that were not brought to Japan via Nagasaki as well as those that were collected in the modern period. In addition, it is essential to carefully search the relevant references to the paintings from the remaining trade documents, art histories, essay collections and exhibition catalogues in Nagasaki. In this paper, I have compiled a list of Chinese paintings imported to Nagasaki during the Edo period using both Japanese and Chinese historical documents based on the research of Nagazumi Yoko, who compiled information on Chinese paintings brought to Nagasaki based on Dutch historical documents. | |||||||
