| 内容記述 | The first moving picture in Nagasaki was screened using the cinématographe method. The date and time was May 21, 1897（Meiji 30）, and the place was within the Yasaka Shrine. Though the performance of plays in showhouses （misemono-goya） had been accepted by people in Nagasaki, the number of theatrical showhouses screening movies little by little increased as movies became popular after that. Gradually, the residents of Nagasaki came to prefer movies over plays. This essay aims to clarify how movies become established in Nagasaki as people’s entertainment. This time it will be ranged from 1904 to 1905. |
