値 | This paper reports the teaching methods utilized when training international students in Japan-specific career development and job hunting practices. The “Career Japanese” class has been held with the cooperation of the Career Support Center since 2015. The main objective of the special classes are for international students to learn the system and cultural background of job hunting in Japan, business Japanese, Japanese business etiquette, and other various skills and tips. In 2018, there were four types of focus classes; (1) the practice of writing resumes, (2) job interview practice, (3) the practice of telephone correspondence, (4) job group interview practice. These classes were designed mainly by career center staff. The Japanese instructor and career center staff collaborated in preparing classes and assess students’ needs throughout a semester. In a new approach, Japanese students taking the Japanese language teacher training course took part in classes as teaching assistants. International students’ reactions on the questionnaire indicated that they were satisfied, and the inclusion of Japanese teaching assistants increased students’ motivation. | |||||
