Participants were 72 university students who were in either Japanese or English teacher training courses. The study identified high frequency words in students’ descriptions in open-ended questions using KH Coder and compared these descriptions with the ideal qualities of teachers in English or Japanese teaching training courses. The findings indicated that students in teacher training courses place emphasis on teachers’ attention to learners’ psychological factors in the descriptive contents of open-ended questions. This study implies that future teaching training courses should train prospective teachers who can actively engage in self-improvement in order to promote their pedagogical knowledge and skills as teachers.}, title = {教員を志望する大学生における理想の教師像とは}, year = {2021} }
