First, the current situation and issues of Japanese language education in Indonesian higher education institutions were examined. As a result, it became clear that the role of Japanese language education in Indonesian higher education today is to produce human resources with skills of “practical Japanese language skills that can be used in actual work”. However, even Indonesian university graduates have difficulty reaching the ideal of “practical Japanese ability”. This situation has not changed in ten years or more. Second, the characteristics and trends of the local human resource needs of Japanese companies in Indonesia were examined. It became clear that Japanese companies have recognized added value to excellent human resources with Japanese language skills at the practical level. However, the number of such human resources is limited. As a result, Japanese companies are looking for highly sought-after personnel with technical skills and management skills rather than Japanese language skills at this moment. Finally, issues related to Japanese language education at higher education institutions and its connectivity to local human resource needs of Japanese companies in Indonesia were considered. It was confirmed that there is clearly a discrepancy between the educational content and the target level of Japanese language proficiency at higher education institutions and the needs of advanced human resources who can also speak Japanese that Japanese companies are seeking. The elucidation of this point and proposal of solutions are the central questions of this study that has not been fully investigated in previous research so far.}, title = {インドネシアの高等教育機関における日本語教育と日系企業への 人材供給に関する一考察}, year = {2021} }
