Firstly, a brief history of the FTT movement in Japan is reviewed, and the goals and guidelines of FTTs in Japan are detailed. One of these six guidelines, the contribution to the vitalization of the local economy and community, was selected and emphasized to highlight the Japanese FTT committee and the FTT movements in Japan in general. Secondly, the FTT movement in Inabe City is described in detail. In 2018, Noriko Haba and the members of the FTT committee in Inabe City started the FTT movement there. They were very active in this movement, resulting in Inabe City being elected as a FTT in 2019.
