The date and time was May 21, 1897(Meiji 30), and the place was within the Yasaka Shrine. Though the play in huts had been accepted by the people in Nagasaki, which reflected Nagasaki’s long history of plays, the number of theatrical huts screening movies gradually increased as movies became popular after that.
