In this paper we follow the idea of the literacy of interpersonal culture (Hosokawa 2007) and we define that the process of cultural understanding is a search for one's interpersonal culture through communication. To clarify the process of cultural understanding, we analyzed the interchange between Japanese and Korean students on an internet bulletin board.
