His earliest work Saigo-Satsu was written when he was still working at The Asahi Shimbun in Kokura, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The reason why he began writing his first novel Saigo-Satsu was that he wanted to escape from reality. It won the third prize of a contest in 1950 and it was nominated for the Naoki literary award. In this paper, the author describes the social description from 1949 to 1951 and analyzes his first three novels, Saigo-Satsu, Kagero, and Kuruma-Yado.
